Buttery Garlic Sourdough Croutons

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups sourdough bread cut into ¾-inch cubes
  • 4 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt or to taste

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the sourdough bread into cubes.
  3. Melt the butter in a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, then stir in the garlic powder and salt.
  4. Toss the bread cubes in the butter mixture until evenly coated.
  5. Spread the cubes in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 12–15 minutes, stirring once halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Cool completely before storing in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Store cooled croutons in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. Re-crisp in the oven if needed.
  • Use bread that is slightly stale.
